Do I need a special SoundCloud account to use SoundCron?

No — any SoundCloud account works. Just click 'Connect with SoundCloud' and authorize the app. Your regular SoundCloud credentials are used; we never see your password.

How does the classification work?

When you run a sort, SoundCron fetches the metadata for each track in your playlist and sends it to an AI model. The model maps each track to one of our 40+ sub-genres. Results are cached per track, so re-sorting the same playlist is fast — already-classified tracks skip the AI call entirely.

What is the "(Other)" playlist?

When the AI's confidence in a specific sub-genre is low, the track lands in a "<Genre> (Other)" playlist instead of (or in addition to) a specific sub-genre. This happens for tracks with vague or missing metadata. Adding better genre tags on SoundCloud and re-running the sort may move the track into the right sub-genre.

What data does SoundCron store about me?

We store your SoundCloud user ID, display name, and your OAuth access and refresh tokens (encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM — never in plaintext). We also cache classification results per track: track ID, genre, sub-genre, and a confidence score. If you subscribe to Pro, your email is collected by our payment processor Polar at checkout. Is my audio uploaded or stored anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. SoundCron never downloads, processes, or stores audio files. Only track metadata — title, artist name, and the genre tags already present on SoundCloud — is sent to the AI for classification. Your music stays on SoundCloud.

What do I get during the trial?

Every new account starts with a 3-day trial with full Pro-equivalent access — up to 500 sort jobs per day, scheduled auto-sync, and syncing all playlists at once. No payment method is required to start.

What happens when my trial ends?

Accepted Answer

If you haven't subscribed by the time your trial ends, scheduled auto-sync and syncing all playlists at once turn off, and manual sort jobs are capped at 5 per day until you subscribe to Pro.

What does Pro include?

Pro continues what the trial gives you — up to 500 sort jobs per day and the ability to create scheduled sync tasks — set a cron expression and SoundCron will automatically re-sort your playlists at that interval, keeping them tidy as you add new tracks. Pro is €3.99/month or €29/year (billed via Polar).

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Click "Manage plan" in the app header. This opens the Polar self-serve billing portal where you can cancel at any time. You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period. Partial-period refunds are not issued.

Question 10

How do I delete my account and data?

Accepted Answer

Email contact@soundcron.com with your request. We will delete all data associated with your account — OAuth tokens, track classifications, and any stored account metadata — within 30 days. Billing records held by Polar follow their own retention policy.

Question 11

What happens if SoundCloud is down?

Accepted Answer

Sort jobs that fail due to a SoundCloud API outage are marked as failed and can be retried manually. Scheduled sync tasks will skip a tick during an outage and resume normally at the next scheduled time. SoundCron has no control over SoundCloud's availability.
